Woodend Equestrian Centre specialises in the training and agistment of horses and riders wishing to improve and excel in dressage and general riding

Woodend Equestrian Centre (WEC) is nestled on a crest overlooking the beautiful Tamar River in northern Tasmania and only thirty minutes drive from Launceston.

The centre offers a modern 60m x 20m indoor arena that allows the rider the most amazing indoor / outdoor experience. The arena surface is a high performance EPS geotextile and sand mix allowing the ideal training surface for your horse.

World class, simply amazing, breath taking, unbelievable are descriptions regularly used by participants and spectators. As they say you simply have to see it to believe it.

The delightful Tamar Valley is famous for quality wine, fine foods, wonderful scenery and hospitality making it an intoxicating mix for the horse enthusiast.

Woodend Equestrian Centre specialises in the training and agistment of horses and riders wishing to improve and excel in the discipline of dressage and general riding skills.

Training

Quality on site tuition is provided by Bernadette (Bert) Gibson who is a qualified NCAS Level 1 general coach and A level dressage judge. Bert has been involved in competing and the administration of dressage for over 30 years. She successfully trained and competed herself through to FEI level and has trained and developed many other horses and riders over the years. Bert is still training and competing successfully and has two young horses of her own that she is bringing through as well as a client’s stallion.

Some of her achievements include, winning a number of Tasmanian state Championships at different levels, member of the state dressage squad, AWHA Australian horse of the year and has judged around Australia including at a number of Australian dressage championships.

Clinics

WEC offers clinics from renowned Australian based Trainers such as Peter Fischer and Roger Fitzhardinge as well as some international identities on occasions.

Agistment

Agistment is available for horse and rider combinations that are looking to be trained and improved using the coaching services provided by Woodend Equestrian Centre.

Agistment can be for short term boot camp type sessions or for long term periods depending on availability.

Options for paddock or yard agistment are available and rugging and feeding can be tailored to suit.

Venue Hire

The WEC Indoor facility may also be available for hire from time to time.

Casual users are able to use the indoor on a pay and ride basis by appointment.
